Author Visit

On Thursday 21st May we welcomed Liam Farrell who is a commercial writer, to our school. He gave us readings from his work and entertained us with fascinating storytelling.

His first talk was in the school library with Ms. Higgins, Ms. Doyle Flynn, Ms. Mulhare and their classes. When they were all settled in the library, the Big Bad Wolf (the author) jumped out from behind the door and everybody got a huge surprise and was frightened. As he told the stories of "The Three Little Pigs," and "Little Red Riding Hood," they all started to realise that he was actually good and kind and not bad and evil as many authors and stories from the past had portrayed him. He also did the same with first and second class and third and fourth class.

For fifth and sixth class he told a story but focused more on how to become a commercial writer and he gave us many tips. We all enjoyed the day and we have all learned a lot about how to become a commercial writer.
