3rd Class Trip to Boora Parklands
On Wednesday 26th of May 2010 3rd Class from St. Rynagh's N. S. Went to Lough Boora on their school tour. I must say we had a great time and I am going to tell you about our trip as best as I can.
When we got to school we wrote a list of flowers on the board. The bus arrived and we were ready to go on our outing. We all got the bus. On the bus we sang songs such as Flowers of the May and Sylvest. When we got to Lough Boora we meet our tour guides - Helen and Lisa. On our way to the Pavilion we met a man. He was bringing his dog for a walk. The dog's name was Cara which means friend in Irish. When we got to the Pavilion Lisa talked to us about Lough Boora and Board na Móna. First we went into a tunnel made of a willow tree.

Then we went to a pyramid made of rocks. It looked like The Pyramid's in Egypt. Next we went to the Sky Train. It was quite a master piece. The Sky Train was an old train that brought briquettes to Ferbane Power Station. Then we went to the Lough Boora triangles made from ancient logs. Then we went to the twin cooling towers one was male and one was female. Next we saw the 60 degrees triangles. Then we saw a Tippler. A Tippler looks like a train station. Then we went back to the Pavilion to have our lunch. We met the Shannonbridge Active Retirement Group and we sang songs for them and a group went with Mr. Scully and we found a six spotted Burnet Moth. We showed it to the Active Retirement Group. Next we thanked Helen and Lisa.
We went back to the bus and sang songs again. These are some of those songs "The Town I Left Behind" and "The Green and Red of Mayo". I had a great time.
Now that was my story and I definitely recommend you to go to Lough Boora and I want to say thank you to my teacher's Mr. Scully and Mr. Wrafter.
