Farewell Fr. Simon !

Fr. Simon has spent the past 8 and 1/2 years in our parish and is now going to Granard which is near his home town. We are all going to miss Fr. Cadam very much because of his help, support and teachings that have touched every heart in our parish.

We had a school mass on Friday to celebrate and give thanks for the gift of having Fr. Cadam in our parish and also to wish him farewell and good luck in Granard.

We presented Fr. Cadam with a picture that was painted for him by the artist Chris O'Donoghue. He based his painting on "The Parable of the Sower." A similar painting is hanging in our school corridor and we knew Fr. Simon liked it as he often talked about it during his visits to the school.

In the bottom left hand corner of the painting Fr. Simon is portrayed leading the children of St. Rynagh's on their faith journey. We hope he will find a place for it in his new home.

It was wonderful to have a priest like Fr. Cadam in St. Rynagh's. We will miss him and think of him often. We hope he will return to visit us in the future.
